chefot, owner and founder of Mama Roy’s Creole Kitchen, is a promising chef with traditional talents. His abilities in the kitchen are reminiscent of and inspired by his grandmother, Ethel Lewis Ross, who taught cooking for over 25 years in the Crescent City New Orleans.
chefot creates extraordinary experiences in the kitchen which have captured the palates of many clients. Those dishes are inclusive of but not restricted to his Southern Fried Chicken Potato Salad, Seafood Gumbo, and Shrimp Creole. All made from scratch, mind you. This isn’t just food; this is an experience. One reminiscent of your grandmother’s table.
With dishes steeped in Southern and Creole traditions, chefot takes honor and pride in serving traditional family recipes like his grandmother’s Red Beans and Rice which you can still find his almost 90 year-old grandmother preparing on any given Monday.
After spending 15 years in the Information Technology Industry, chefot was motivated to turn his passion for cooking into reality. Honoring his Great Grandmother, Mama Ella Roys, a restaurant in her name was imagined and with that Mama Roys Creole Kitchen was born. His personal chef services are built on the promise to keep you coming back for his unique home cooking which he calls “Boutique Style Cooking.”
It is widely known of Mama Ella Roys “no soul left her door
unfed” New Orleans local news paper and chefot continues that legacy.
